Mercedes-Benz convertibles enjoying popularity

The new generation of Mercedes-Benz convertibles is doing well with 145,000 customers across the world choosing the SL-Class.

After its introduction in 1954 as the 300 SL, the fifth-generation of its class is becoming increasingly popular with Mercedes-Benz customers.

A new design and sporty appearance is combined with better performance and enhanced safety to give customers the complete package.

Mercedes-Benz has incorporated Active Body Control (ABC) technology into the SL-Class to give it a perfect balance of handling and comfort.

A number of sensors are able to sense the car’s movement patterns and then adjust the suspension to reduce body roll in braking, cornering and accelerating situations.

In addition, the SLK-Class Roadster continues to be popular since its market introduction in 2004.

It is also able to lower the height of the car by 11 millimetres when at high speed in order to reduce fuel consumption by dramatically enhancing aerodynamic performance.

Nearly 200,000 vehicles have been sold with 20,000 units this year alone delivered to Mercedes-Benz customers
